Cabaret

I’ve been delighted to see so many theatre friends and colleagues attend Monday night concerts to listen to me playing piano and singing songs of the great musicals or the Great American and British Songbooks, delighting in listening out for my legendary bad jokes, and joining in sing-a-longs. I’ve also entertained guests with laid back tunes during afternoon tea sittings from Peter and his team at Backstage Bites the on-site events caterers and at the ever-popular regular monthly Showtunes Sunday lunch events.

“Barry Stewart has performed his musical cabaret act for us over many years at the C.A.A. He has delighted our members by playing the piano & singing during our popular Afternoon Tea sessions, hosted for private events and is a firm favourite at our 2024/25 Showtunes Sundays. He has a good repertoire of music and a great personality. Our members and their guests always enjoy his performances.”

— Nicholas Robinson, Chairman of the C.A.A. on behalf of the Committee

I was delighted to be engaged by David Alder to produce his one man show, and Daniel Trumbull in his UK concert debut. I also hosted for ‘Revolution’ and feature in its West End showcase, all staged at the CAA.

“Barry produced my one man show Defying Brevity.

His organisation of the venue and setting were excellent. The publicity was of high quality, as was his arranging for the best lighting technician and refreshments and catering for the audience, which guaranteed the success of the performances.

I would thoroughly recommend him as a producer and host, for theatrical and recital events.”

— David Alder

Barry organised everything a performer could need: a perfect venue, quality publicity, bookings, professional lighting and sound were all perfect for my London Debut performances.

“I know Barry as a friend and in a professional capacity, and I can unequivocally say he possesses all the right ingredients one needs to exist in the world of entertainment. I have heard first-hand his ability at the piano, not only his playing but vocally. He has also directed and produced many concerts of both British artistes and musicians from all over Europe. He has great manners and an uncanny ability to “tune in” to the mood of the moment. Anyone who has had the pleasure of Barry's company, loyalty and talents has been the better for it.”
